Overview
Coriolis News is a free news aggregator that curates publicly available content from third-party watch publications. We are committed to respecting your privacy. This policy explains what information, if any, is involved when you use our site.
Information We Collect
We don't ask for, or keep, your personal details. Specifically:
- We do not require account creation or login.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information through normal use of the site.
- We do not use advertising services or advertising cookies, and we never sell or share data for advertising.
- With your permission, we use Google Analytics to count visits (see Analytics below). Without your permission, no analytics cookies are set.
Analytics
If you choose “Allow” on the notice shown on your first visit, we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga) and sends Google information such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your browser and device type, and your approximate location, which Google works out from your IP address but doesn't store. We only see this as overall statistics, which don't identify you, and we don't use Google Analytics for advertising.
Google handles this data under its own privacy policy; see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you choose “No thanks”, Google Analytics doesn't load and no analytics cookies are set.
You can change your choice at any time; choosing “No thanks” also removes the analytics cookies.
Local Storage
The site may use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as read articles, display settings and your analytics choice. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Contact Form
If you choose to contact us through our contact page, the name, email address, and message you provide are sent directly via email and are not stored on our servers or in any database. To prevent spam, we keep a one-way hashed version of your IP address along with the time of your submission, used only to limit how many messages can be sent per hour. It is not linked to your message or used to identify you.
Third-Party Content
Our site displays content sourced from third-party RSS feeds. When you click through to read an article on its original site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
Children's Privacy
Our site is freely available to all. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
